2015 Technology Predictions by Rajiv Srivastava, VP & GM, PPS, HP India

HP-logo2015 will be a year of change, where new solutions will break down the barriers of technology and transform the way that people interact with their devices.

With mobile devices and apps at the frontier of this transformation, there will be an increased emphasis on the user experience of mobile technology. User environments, in and out of the home or office, as well as the devices itself, will need to adapt to the tremendous demands that come with a highly mobile lifestyle. For example, the availability of iPass in select HP notebooks and tablets has made it simpler and more affordable for consumers to stay connected even when they are traveling, ensuring they get the most from their mobile devices. In addition, the HP wireless direct feature on HP Ink Advantage printers provides an easy and affordable way to print from their mobile devices, even when there is no wireless network or router.

For businesses, instead of the employee-driven desire to stay mobile, senior business executives will put more emphasis on ensuring their employees have the tools to access information securely wherever they are, from whatever device they are using. To help organizations embrace this, we will see new, innovative devices that are designed for mobility, security, reliability, durability and manageability.

In addition, as businesses transition from a paper to a digital office, the scan-optimized HP Flow MFPs and Officejet Enterprise X MFPs provide an on-ramp to the digitized world with faster and more accurate enterprise-grade scanning and document processing. Going a step further to better optimize and manage their print environment in a cost-effective way, businesses can turn to HP Managed Print Services through HP directly or channel partners.

As part of this evolution, we will also see the emergence of several accelerators – one of which is 3D printing technology. 3D printing will literally reduce the gap between the digital and physical worlds, shrinking the limitations that technology currently places on the world today. Through this technology, individuals and businesses will be able to experience new possibilities and reach new markets, respectively.

With the blending of the actual and virtual, 2015 will see a quantum leap in technology, setting the stage for even further future innovations.
