CSI – Nihilent announces e-Governance Awards for 2013-14
Hyderabad, India, December 14, 2014: The Computer Society of India (CSI), India’s largest society of IT professionals and Nihilent, a Pune based global consulting and solutions integration company today announced the winners of CSI-Nihilent e-Governance Awards 2013-14, during CSI’s 49th annual convention at Hyderabad. The awards have been instituted by CSI’s Special Interest Group on eGovernance (SIG eGov) with sponsorship from Nihilent.
This year, three states including Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat shared the award for sustained excellence in eGovernance, while Kerala also joined the group of states leading in ICT adoption. Identified as a core focus area under the Chief Minister’s Mission 676 scheme, Kerala’s initiative in bringing transformational change in governance was well appreciated. The state of NCT Delhi received the jury award for progressive state in eGovernance, for its efforts in providing IT related infrastructure to every citizen, services on demand and digital empowerment of citizens.
At the same time, eighteen projects were recognized for their innovative and inclusive eGovernace initiatives. In addition, nine projects from different states were recognized for sustainability after their implementation. These projects had been recognized earlier as well and have continued to impact citizens and deliver operational efficiencies in their departments.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Prof. Harish Iyer, Convener, said, “The competition has been tougher than ever this time, given the fact that the standard of projects has evolved so much. These innovative programs are surely an indicator of good times ahead for eGovernance in India.”

The awards ceremony was well represented by officials from the administrative services as well as ministries.
