Honor upgrades the OS for Honor 7X – rolls out Android Oreo

Honor has announced the 100% roll out of EMUI 8.0 with Android 8.0 for Honor 7X. This has been designed to deliver its user a quality experience, aided by ground-breaking user interface – Based on Android 8.0 (Oreo), EMUI 8.0 is packed with features like Smart Resolution, dynamic wallpaper, navigation bar customizations and more. A well-crafted software, EMUI 8.0 is in sync with Huawei/Honor’s consumer-centric approach bringing to the table a smooth flawless experience and a curated design for its users. Further, it engages in low memory management by allocating resources in a way to provide more space to ensure smooth experience.

This update will introduce 3 new key feature like ride mode, Game suite & Shortcut to Paytm. Ride mode feature urges consumers to follow responsible and safe smartphone usage while riding a two-wheel vehicle. According to industry reports and figures, India has one of the highest numbers of road accidents due to several factors like distracted driving and mobile phone usage while driving/riding. Post the update, to enable ‘Ride-Mode’; user needs to activate the feature either from drop-down notifications menu, icon on the Home Screen or by going to the phone’s ‘Settings’. Once enabled, the caller will be notified that the user is currently riding, and cannot answer calls. The feature, however, allows the caller to call the rider by pressing numeric 1 in-case of urgency or emergency. Secondly, Game Suite – now user can play games uninterrupted as they can set their Honor 7X on different game modes like:

1-      Gaming Mode – where the phone will automatically optimize for perfect gaming experience

2-      Power saving mode – where the phone will be optimize on the basis of battery

3-      Smart Mode – This mode smartly optimize phone depending upon the current usage and balance the power consumption & performance.

4-      Uninterrupted gaming – all onscreen notification will be hidden except for calls, alarms and low battery, the device will not ring or vibrate for calls and alarms

5-      Lock navigation keys – you can lock the off-screen navigation keys to avoid accidental presses during game. Tap a key 3 times to perform an action

The PayTM integration, users will now be able to access the PayTM payment page by assigning a unique fingerprint for PayTM which redirects the user directly to the payment page. Thus enabling quicker digital payment through the PayTM app.

Be it one-hand operation navigation dock, pinned shortcuts, customized themes, simplified settings, accessibility to recently deleted documents or in general phone management – EMUI 8.0 had covered it all.

This smartphone also support an intelligent split-screen interface. For instance when the user does not want to be interrupted while watching a video, the phone will pro-actively switch to split-screen mode on arrival of a notification along with sending the message without any disruption.
