Could you please tell us about Junglee?
We launched Junglee in Feb 2012 and since then it has grown dramatically. It has emerged to be the #1 search and comparison shopping site in India. It has been ranked as the number one comparison shopping website in India, by comScore, a leading Internet Technology company that provides analytics for the digital world. Junglee.com has occupied the top position on comScore charts for 8 quarters in a row starting September 2012.
What is the USP of ‘Junglee’ in contrast of other search and comparison site provider in India?
Today we have over 30 million listings across 25 categories, from over 2200 online shopping sites and 1 lakh+ offline stores. Junglee is a neutral and unbiased platform, offering a single convenient place where customers can find virtually any product, compare prices across online shopping sites, read product and seller reviews, and find nearby sellers. From Organic Teas to Fresh Flowers, Camping Gear to Mountain Bikes, Popular Mobile Phones to Bestselling Books, Gold Coins to Home Furnishings, customers can find virtually anything and make informed purchase decisions. We have also integrated the extensive catalog of products from Amazon.com that ship to India, with prices including duties and other charges and converted to INR to help customers gain access to selection not available locally. We recently enabled Businesses Nearby in few categories with thousands of physical stores across top metros, enabling customers find nearby locations to purchase the product. In January, we tied up with Quikr.com wherein consumers can now check online prices of new and pre-owned products, and find local sellers on Junglee.com. Customers can access over 3 crore products, over 6 crore customer reviews, thousands of seller reviews to decide what to buy and who to buy from. Customers are using the Save feature on Junglee to save their favorites. We have seen hundreds of thousands of Save till date.
What is ‘Junglee’ doing differently to increase its market share in India?
On an average, we witness about 15 million sessions per month on Junglee. We recently launched the Junglee Android app. The app has multiple features to help customers search and get to the right product. These include an auto-suggest feature, filters to help refine results by brand, price, item condition, discount, average customer review and more attributes. In a market first, the app enables shoppers to search across online and local sellers together as well as compare prices across new and used products, all in one place. In addition to checking prices, the app allows shoppers access to reviews for millions of products that are listed on Junglee.com .Shoppers can check prices and read product reviews anywhere, at home, office and while shopping at retail stores. The seller ratings help customers evaluate sellers and choose the right one and shoppers can buy on the seller site or directly call sellers, from the app. The app has started trending on Google Play among apps from all categories.
